![]() ![]() How some multi-core PCs can run the game in a very smooth way and others struggle with it and this is not even the worse steam port on the GTA series. I'm using Windows 10 on an HP Envy Laptop with all my drivers and everything up to date. I even tried the Nexus mod for it, still nothing. Originally posted by Doantek Snusnu Vauntetto:I just tried this and every other compatibility option and nothing worked. I hope this was useful for the people who were experiencing the same problem as me, thanks for reading. Now close all that and and open the application in the local folder. On the tabs at the top go to compatibility, once on there at the bottom press 'change settings for all users'įor this part you want to tick compatibility mode and open the drop down menu to windows 98/windows meĪfter you have done that go to settings just under that and tick the 'run in 640x480 screan resolution' once all that is done press apply and then ok. Once it is open you see the application file gta-vc, right click and go to properties. What you want to do its go into the games library and right click on Vice CityĬlick on properties and and go to local files and then browse (It'll take you to the main folder for Vice City) Now onto the fix that most of you may be experiencing! Next they said to uninstall the Rockstar games launcher and reinstall it, so i did that and again never worked! So i thought to myself why not just try to uninstall and reinstall steam again and install Vice City again, as you can guess by now the way the whole story is going it didn't BLOODY WORK!!! haha ![]() they went on to saying make sure everything is disabled and no programmes conflicting with Steam or Rockstar games launcher, so i did all that and it never worked! I just recently went through the whole process of contacting Rockstar asking what the issue can be. Now i'm sure that most of you all have/had the same issue as me and it wasn't working!!! At least Valve does it right. Are you having that issue when you want to play you going in to library and go to GTA-VC and want to shoot peoples heads off with a sniper and see how many stars you can accumulate, then you press play and the 2 seconds later it just stopped (not even loaded at all) and you get pissed off as to why the heck it isn't working. General lack of knowledge on proper mouse controls by game developers is the culprit here. ![]() Mass Effect, BioShock, BulletStorm, GTA4, etc. Too many games suffer from bad mouse movement these days, e.g. Wish more developers would spend some time getting basic mouse controls right. The menu cursor also becomes very unresponsive if vsync is off on some resolutions. should always be left at 6/11 for perfect pixel accuracy, so just raise DPI instead. ![]() can also remedy the problem, but Windows sens. Don't use 400 DPI in this game, because it will be really difficult to aim because of this deadzone. It's less noticeable the higher your DPI is, so you should use high DPI and lower your ingame sensitivity to compensate if it's too annoying. If you don't move your mouse fast enough, the cursor doesn't move at all. There's a deadzone when aiming / looking. (I am a mouse control freak, have owned more mice than most people will in a lifetime, and used to play FPS on a professional level). The mouse problems of GTA4 are not hardware related or OS related, if you think otherwise you are wrong and simply don't notice it. Edited Decemby NitroBulletīumping an old thread but I want to set things straight. It's just that the mouse threshold activates at a lower speed. But it's pointing more to mouse acceleration based on what I've tested. It could either be mouse acceleration or just simply mouse lag due to poor coding of mouse movement. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. What do you mean mouse acceleration has nothing to do with the game? Some games force mouse acceleration. Yes that includes Windows 7.Īlso I forgot to ask. All the 64 bit versions it has no effect whatsoever. Oh yea, and your registry file only works for XP and Vista 32. I'm trying to headshot someone, so I have to move the mouse slowly, but it won't move, so I have to move it a bit faster, but then it goes over the point in which I am wanting to land the headshot at. The fact that if you're in Free look, or just aiming with any weapon, moving it slow enough so that the crosshair point doesn't even move is hard to handle. Even if it is mouse acceleration, the aim shouldn't be that bad. It's still there, which implies that GTA IV's Mouse Lag or Mouse Acceleration/Smoothing is indeed forced. I've applied a stronger mouse fix on my XP drive that does a better job or eliminating mouse acceleration than a registry edit. Backup that registry key first, if you want the option to revert settings later.Īlso, being too lazy to post our PC details, like your OS is a bitch, isn't it? Imagine if people giving answers were equally lazy ![]()
